This meter is installed in addition to the homeowner’s utility meter and tracks redundant usage information. With this usage information, and the capabilities of the InFusion system, homeowners are able to select and employ one of eight energy saving strategies at the touch of a button. Whereas some energy management dashboards simply estimate savings, this is the first system that can be programmed with local power costs to calculate, in real time, the exact euro or dollar amount a homeowner is saving.

The communication connection is an Ethernet connection (RJ45 over Cat5e or Cat6) to the home network. The InFusion system also communicates over the same home network.
